Porter & Chester Reviews

"Horrible lack of communication. terrible school. Wish someone had warned me prior to starting. Paying for tools and uniforms that i never even got. Buncha thieves in the auto class in Watertown. Absolute nightmare. Haha even better is when they continue to withdraw money from an account that they were told not to. And when you ask to speak to the campus director and never get a call back. Lawsuits are a b****.

EBNewbie09 says:  To anyone that reads this and is looking to go to Porter & Chester Institute (any campus) Unless you already have a HVAC job (and looking for further education)-by all means attend the school if you wish...If you do not have a HVAC job while attending and hope to get one at the end of/through the school GOOD LUCK! I feel very few people get jobs from these schools. They have grads in all courses every twelve weeks! How can they fill constantly fill these positions that often...They jerk-job you around about getting work. As well as take your money-(It's a money mill) they got my 25K that I have to pay back and NO job.

gary8878 says: Porter and Chester's job placement is pretty poor otherwise. No one else I graduated with has found a job yet, I know many people who went there for Electrical and they too have had a hard time.

During winter you are to be in class no matter what the road conditions. If they decide to send you home then driving in bad weather is your problem. If you miss a day they will hold it over your head. You can make it up until about 3 weeks before you graduate, then they will expel you. WTF, they'll have all of your money by then.

"I graduated in April 2009. About two weeks before the "graduation" I met with (the then) one & only placement co-ordinator this "campus" has. This was with graduates from ALL the coursesoffered...Her attitude towards us (male type career grads) was pretty unprofessional to me. She basically paid more attention to the females (women type career grads)...She flat-out told all us males that there are basically NO JOBS available in your fields!"

Changed Opinion says: February 3, 2011 at 10:19 pm   Well, I’m glad I just read all of these I was going to attend Porter and Chester but based on what i’ve seen the people who go here, its not a very good school. I was going to go to Chicopee but they have abandoned cars sitting in there lot? and the plows dont come out at night? I live in Vermont, the plows are always out during a storm at night they are out in full force because there is less traffic on the road. sorry Porter and Chester I’m going to Wyotech I’m sure they don't have abandoned cars in their lots.

pissedoff night student says: February 1, 2011 at 3:18 pm  This is getting to become a major pain in my a$$! Who is the bright one who didn’t close the school?  The roads aren’t any better than day time traffic at least in day time its easier to get help but at night unless you're bleeding or in a major car accident your going to sit their for several hours if you get stuck.

K says:  February 1, 2011 at 3:58 pm  Has anyone been out on the roads yet. I live in Worcester and I have to travel to Westboro tonight for class. It is insane. The roads are the worst they have been all winter. Not even main roads in Worcester are plowed the snow is coming down to fast so they are not evening bothering to plow. P&C is crazy. Every other campus in Mass are closed. It is so unsafe out there. You're not even suppose to be driving unless its an emergency and making it to class is not an emergency. People are going to get very hurt in this weather trying to make it to class. Its ridiculous.

dougie says: February 1, 2011 at 4:13 pm   Hey Porter and Chester this is (NOT!!) safe to put our children in danger these roads are terrible ,if my children end up in a ditch or something fatal happens it will be on you . As a parent of a student it seems your priority's are not in order. Shame on you it would seriously stink if something happens and get a fat law suit on your behinds…. it is time we called the

governer's office tell them how every single snow storm my child is on these roads even after they have warned the entire state to stay

off these roads… just cleaned the drive way and my car and driveway is icing …common sense people !!

sincerly,  dougie
