Student thats gonna flip says: June 1, 2012 at 1:38 pm Started this school in 2011 seemed pretty good at first. Then as the excitement faded you begin to realize your getting robbed. It don't matter the grades you get or if your there for every class. The financial aid department at the school is there to help but they have to follow the rules set forth by the schools board. Which sucks plain and simple. You sign papers over a year ago and they act like things dont happen in peoples lives which can change financial situations. Constant threats of being tossed out of the program your attending if you fall behind on ur in school payments. Which is about 50 dollars a month for the average student. Even though they get paid from the government which is alot more money. Good lawsuit though if they kick you out mid term and they dont give back to the government. If you go nights no one is there to help you out either. Director of pupils waits till class begins then happily leaves the building for the night. Understaffed financial aid department leaves fairly early too. If you have money to blow pay up to go and you have yourself a nice place to hangout and meet new people/friends. But the school dosent care about you just the money. You can have a great GPA and perfect attendance and your just another dollar sign to them. Instructors do the best they can but you can see frustration in their eyes. More students then instructors to help you out to learn. Who ever runs this school needs an intervention because they have no idea whats really going on with America these days And the job placement guy is a joke. Types you up a resume thats on standard computer paper shows you how to look for a job yourself. Using the internet. Most of us are grown ups we know how to find jobs using a computer. If your lucky to get placed you will be somewhere that you wont even be able to live and pay your student loans back. 10 bucks an hour or less in some cases.

IT IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY WITH THEM, I OWE THEM $5,OOO AND I GOT A CALL FROM A CINDY SAYING I NEED TO MAKE $279.00 A MONTH PAYMENTS, I OFFERED A $100 A MONTH SINCE I STILL HAVENT GOTTING A JOB IN THE TRADE I WENT TO SCHOOL FOR. THE WOMAN WAS RUDE AND STARTED TALKING TO ME LIKE ONE OF THOSE HARRASSING CREDIT COLLECTORS…LOL I TOLD HET TO F*^& OFF B*&%^ AND TO LOSE MY NUMBER. I GET A CALL TODAY FROM CT POLICE DEPARTMNENT SAYING THE WOMAN CINDY CALLED SAYING I WAS GOING TO GO UP THERE AND KILL HER!! WOW I TOLD THE OFFICER REALLY, HOW STUPID WOULD I BE TO THREATING SOMEONE AT THE SCHOOL I WENT TO, BUT I DID CALL HER EVRY F BOMB IN THE WORLD,(NO CRIME IN THAT), THIS IS HOW THEY TREAT THERE EX STUDENTS, PLEASE DONT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL!!! CHANGE OF HEART says: June 20, 2012 at 11:06 am I WAS GOING TO START PCI IN 2 MONTH IN THEIR DENTAL ASST PROGRAM. TODAY I WAS GOING TO DO MY FINACIAL AID BUT I HAD AN DENTIST APP THIS MORNING, LONG STORY SHORT MY DENTIST TOLD ME STUDENTS FROM PCI DONT HAVE THE SKILLS AND THAT THEY NEVER HIRED ANYONE FROM PCI CAUSE THEY SKILlS WERE NOT GREAT AT ALL, SHE WAS LETTING ME KNOW BEFORE I GO AND PAY A 20K TUITION. SHE ADVISE ME THAT I GO DO TRAINING AT A DENTAL OFFICE SEE IF I LIKE IT THEN GO TO A LESS CHEAPER SCHOOL AND GET CERTIFIED. AND AFTER READING EVERYONE REVIEWS I SEE IT WASNT BULL SHE WAS TELLING ME. I THANK EVERYONE ON HERE FOR SHARING THEIR PERSONAL EXPIERENCE, AND THEY ADVISE I WOULD OF BEEN VERY UPSET IF I WOULD HAVE 20K FOR NOTHING AT ALL. Disgusted Parent says: June 29, 2012 at 9:36 am Even giving this school one star in each category is a stretch. Porter and Chester is a total scam and should be revealed for what they really are. Its quite obvious reading these reviews that the same complaints from different students and parents are mentioned over and over. I would advise anyone and everyone to stay clear of this school. You will be paying thousands of dollars for an education that you will either not get or never have a chance to get but your still going to have to pay off those loans. Sound fair? Do yourself a favor and go to a real school like so many stated in their complaints they ended up doing in the end. This so called “school” is a joke!!!!!! I cannot stress “joke” enough. I wish I had done a google search and found all these complaints before I let my son enroll there only to end up with $27,000 in loans and no certificate.

AMAZED says: July 11, 2012 at 7:22 pm It is unfortunate to hear some of the circumstances you all have experienced… I went to the Westborough campus and made out just fine! There are things that could have been different but at the end of the day you have to put in lots of effort yourself in combination with working with your instructors. I saw students that did very little but expected a lot.. can not understand am amazed that people want to put in as little as possible and get as much in return..hmm

 

Fair_warning says: July 19, 2012 at 6:52 pm This is a warning to anyone interested in attending the Porter & Chester Chicopee campus. I think the only “type” of poeple this school would be good for would be someone in a coma or someone Deaf dumb and blind. This school delivered on ZERO of the promises made to be when i first signed up. No one ever has an answer to any question asked and There seriously is not a set in stone curriculum that they follow. I know that sounds crazy but its very true and there is whole weeks that you'll find yourself continually asking yourself ” Um what are we supposed to be doing” so you ask your classmates and everyone's just doing their own thing. Better yet randomly try and find your instructor and that's a mission in itself. The school is WAYYYY overpriced, There is no cafeteria, Barely any vending machines and I tried to think as i was going to write this of something positive to say about the school. I could only think of one and that's the fact that they have day and night classes and some programs have a mid day class. Other then that you can learn MUCH more by taking online courses or googling a lot. Again i just attended the Porter & Chester Chicopee campus so i have no opinions about other campus’s but i would guess they are pretty much the same.

DO GO says: July 20, 2012 at 10:17 pm I wish i can go back in time and read these reviews, because they're all true. Porter & Chester is ALL about the money. Its full of lies. Porter & Chester is bullshit and overpriced. Teachers are only there for their paycheck. I'm telling everybody. You are paying 30k and up to teach yourself so don't waste your time.

CBoyle224 says: Aug 24, 2010 The computers are kinda slow, but they work well enough. we have access to a printer anytime. The computers don't all have the same software though. Some of the programs we did were very hard to complete because of the unreliability of these computers.

The teachers were awesome, I was getting straight A's and I really enjoyed what I was learning, I looked forward to school every evening. Then management decided to fire both of our night teachers. Things have not been the same since, in fact they have gone down hill very quickly and don't look like there is any chance the situation will rectify itself anytime soon. In fact, if I could afford it, I would transfer to another school, but go to rn instead of medical assisting.

I miss the lab teacher we had, in fact all of us evening students even started a petition, but we were ignored. The new teacher made rude remarks towards her and talks about drugs, alcohol and swindling the school for more money and much much more. The anatomy teacher does not know how to teach, the whole school is complaining, but we are being ignored. She even gets angry if you ask her a question, she makes me feel like I'm stupid or something for having to ask a question. She gets all red faced, sighs and then starts writing stuff on the board like she's teaching a room full of kindergarteners. Not good.
